Party Politics in Local Government in SA – from Adelaide Now website
I attach the following article which has a comment from me included. I don’t need to say much more other than some of those calling for greater transparency from Councils (with which I agree) are not so keen on transparency for themselves.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, here is yesterday’s astonishing revelation that “Independent” doesn’t mean “Independent”.

In defence of the Electoral Commissioner, she can only work with the legislation she is given by the State Government, and that legislation is in dire need of help for the sake of the electorate.
As for the Liberal candidate who has ‘got away’ by using the term, legally he may have won the case, but I am not sure how much credibility he has left in the eyes of the voters of Water Gully Ward.
In case you are reading this from Water Gully Ward and you want to vote for a real Independent who is great value – I suggest Monika Bahsin.
